Paris, Texas (1984)

this is one of the most visually beautiful movies I've ever seen. it was actually a struggle to pick the photo because every shot in this movie is the best one until the next. a slowburn, but so gorgeous to look at. this entered my letterboxd top 4 literally after the first watch.

Lady Bird (2017)

she's so me, it's so fucked up ngl. the 2002 setting, iconic. timothee chalamet in his hottest role, actual perfection. junior year of college, this was my halloween costume and i feel like i peaked.

Y Tu Mamá También (2001)

omfg this movie, I cannot. I'll never recommend anything more often than this, if you haven't seen it, get on that!! roadtrip movies are one of my favorite genres and the setting is perfect. after finishing it, I always end up wanting to immediately rewind and watch it again.

Point Break (1991)

keanu reeves is actually the hottest a man has ever looked on camera, and this is why we need more women directing action movies. i'm not even kidding it pisses me off that he existed during this time and I wasn't there. there's a scene where he plays football on the beach in a crop top like don't even get me started.

Clueless (1995)

another iconic female director, i love how the language of this movie was completely made up, but so influential it feels like 90s accurate slang. also since i was like 13, i needed Cher's hair so bad, my ultimate inspo.

Rear Window (1954)

so iconic!! ik most people think of psycho for alfred hitchcock, but i'd recommend this first. takes place in a singular location, with little camera movement, but it's impressively never boring. also Grace Kelly might be the most gorgeous women on film ever, a literal princess

Paper Moon (1973)

youngest oscar winner ever and for a reason ! i love a well-written scam and watching it all play out especially with a father/daughter duo. i also love how it's black and white because it's set in the 30s.

No Country for Old Men (2007)

not a hot take at all for this to be a 5 star movie seeing as it also won Best Picture, but it's just so fucking good. Also Josh Brolin as a sexy cowboy like how could I not be locked in.

After Hours (1985)

this movie is so much fun, but truly so stressful at the same time. i love a movie that takes place in one night because i feel like it creates a unique point of view. An underrated Martin Scorsese movie for sure.

Boogie Nights (1997)

sexy and the 70s like there's nothing else to say. Leonardo Dicaprio said his biggest regret is not taking this lead role, even though the role he took instead was Jack in titanic lolll.

Thelma and Louise (1991)

Ridley Scott was gonna direct Point Break, but did this movie instead and clearly that was the correct choice because both movies are iconic as they are. another roadtrip movie, i love the dynamic between the two of them, and brad pitt also gets his sexy cowboy moment and it's his first movie ever !!

Mulholland Drive (2001)

perfect movie, perfect shot, perfect director. RIP David Lynch <3 when i found out he died I was on a roadtrip to a remote cabin and I ended up listening to the twin peaks soundtrack smoking a cigarette in the airbnb's backyard.
